In my area we don't have problems with coyotes as much as we do with "wild" dogs. I use "" because they're really just hunting dogs that people got too lazy to take care of and just let go. I feel so bad when I see them, but a lot of times they're really scary because they're delirious and probably rabid. I stopped feeling so bad for them after they took my babies
I rescued those cats, and the boy was first to go. A year of two later they took my baby girl too 
But the cat I have now is a Maine Coon. I don't worry about him much.
